SMP Suster Pontianak is a school particularly focusing on education. It is located at Jalan A.R. Hakim No.106 Pontianak. Sisters of SFIC established it in 1913 with the former school named Sekolah Rakyat (SR). On 1 August 1934, Sekolah Rakyat was changed into Sekolah “MULO” with the name “Saint Lucia”, established for the province of West Kalimantan. There were only 8 students at that time.

On 19 December 1938, Sekolah “MULO” got the “Disamakan” status. 3 years later, precisely on 19 December 1941, the school was imposed to be sealed for undecided time because Pontianak City was bombed by Japan. The number of student at that shocking time:

On 1 August 1950, the school was changed into SMP Putri with the commitment to use Indonesian language.
